Donated to a nonprofit using a credit grant from your company? Donations made with a credit grant are disbursed following a two-month timeline. You can find more information below.
Credit grant donations to U.S. Nonprofits
- You submit your credit grant donation on January 1
- The status of your donation shows as "Awaiting Transfer from your company"
- On the 1st of the following month, in this example February 1st, Bright Funds invoices your company for the credit grant donation
- When the invoice is paid for by your company (typically before the end of the month the invoice is received), the status of the donation will change to "Received by Bright Funds"
- You will then see a new status added to "Scheduled". This means the funds are received, and would be sent the next month - mid-March in this example
- Once the donation is sent, the status of your donation will update to "Disbursed"
- If there was a hitch with the disbursement of the credit grant donation, the status will display as "Held". At that point, you can contact our team at support@brightfunds.org for more information
To summarize: a credit donation to a U.S. nonprofit that was made in January, would typically be disbursed in mid-March.
Please Note: For credit grant donations, the two-month timeline is contingent on Bright Funds receiving the credit grant funds from your company, and may extend beyond that timeframe.
Credit grant donations to nonprofits outside the U.S.
- The status will display as "Disbursed" as soon as the nonprofit has verified their charitable status and bank information with Bright Funds
- If there was a hitch with the disbursement of the credit grant donation, the status will display as "Held". At that point, you can contact our team at support@brightfunds.org for more information
To summarize: a credit donation to a nonprofit outside the U.S. that was made in January, would typically be disbursed in mid-March.
Please Note: For credit grant donations, the two-month timeline is contingent on Bright Funds receiving the credit grant funds from your company, and may extend beyond that timeframe.
Encourage your nonprofit to register their recipient details
Please encourage your nonprofit to register ahead of time on Bright Network so they can submit their recipient information, which will be verified by our Nonprofit team.
When funds are sent, Nonprofits will also receive a donor report with donations through Bright Funds, sharing donor information (if the donor opted) and the donation details.
