If you donated or want to donate to a fundraiser (a race, special fundraiser, etc.), you can do so on Bright Funds.
While Bright Funds cannot be directly linked to a nonprofit's fundraising page, you can donate or request a match to support a particular fundraiser.
Donating to a fundraiser or race
You want to donate to a nonprofit that has a fundraiser. You can donate to the nonprofit on Bright Funds, and use the "include a designation" option to input the text. Some examples include:
- Fundraiser name
- Fundraiser URL (if space permits)
- Race participant information (ID number, name, etc.)
Once the funds are sent to the nonprofit, it will be up to them to apply your donation to their fundraiser. Credit card and PayPal donations made on Bright Funds are sent the following month the donation is made (Example: January-made donation is sent in mid-February).
Matching to a fundraiser or race
You donated to a fundraiser outside of Bright Funds, such as on their website or in person, and you would like to have it matched by your company.
If your company offers matching, you can request a match on the page for the receiving nonprofit. Then, using the "include a designation" option, you can input the text that will be shared with the nonprofit.
Please note: If your company offers outside matching, you may want to make the original donation directly to the fundraiser, particularly if there is a fundraising deadline. Just make sure you receive an official donation receipt from the eligible nonprofit sponsoring or benefiting from the fundraiser to be able to request a match for your donation.
